Very few people can honestly say that they GENUINELY love their job. I, however, am one of the lucky few who truly enjoy going to work every day. Especially when I have such wonderful students and families making it so easy to love! Thank you for entrusting the care of your children to me. I am thrilled to be your child's 4th grade teacher this year as we embark on this journey together.
Not only do I have an exciting and rewarding career, but I am super proud of my family as well. I am married and have four children. Ryan, my son, is nineteen years old. He has graduated high school and started his own business. My daughter, Taylor, is in her freshman year at the University of Florida studying pre-law. Our daughter, Skylar, just turned thirteen. She's in 8th grade and loves to shop and make Tik Toks. Our youngest daughter, Payton, is eleven. She plays soccer and loves horses. We live in Freehold Township with our puppy Stella. When I am not spending time teaching or caring for my family, I enjoy going to the beach, reading, and taking long walks around my neighborhood. I love to go out to eat, shop for just about anything (except groceries), and have fun playing with my kids. I've been a teacher for twenty-four years, having taught third grade, sixth grade, and most recently, fourth. I was also an interventionist reading teacher for several years and taught students from 4th - 6th grades! This is my tenth year teaching 4th grade and I am so excited for it to begin! In 2020 I was named Teacher of the Year. In the past, I was mostly a literacy teacher (and will ALWAYS be deep down!), but a few years ago I decided to try something new...math! I have always thought that I'd love to teach math and science someday & I was right! Since I am so passionate about literacy as well, your child will, no doubt, be getting their fill of reading and writing this year, infused throughout every moment of their day!
If you were to ask me where I see myself in ten years, I would probably say...right here! It is my dream to continue to be the best possible teacher that I can be, striving every day to make learning meaningful for the eager students that enter my classroom. I will continue to work hard and expect the best from my students. In ten years, I hope to be respected as a seasoned professional, yet hold the curiosity of a new teacher fresh out of college. My desire to keep learning and growing will never end. When I grow old, I hope to be able to look back at my life with minimal regret and fond memories that bring a smile to my old, wrinkled face. My husband often jokes that if we won the lottery, I'd still go to work every day because I love it so much!
